Established since 1983 this is one
of Northumberland’s longest established restaurants and they
pride themselves in providing supreme Indian dishes, traditional and
contemporary, using only the finest spices and fresh fruit and
vegetables to prepare the dishes they serve.
The name Diwan-E-Am was chosen to
welcome all food lovers and those who feel a delightful satisfaction
in the atmosphere of natural and fresh herbs and spices, which they
use in every dish. Of course every dish has its own impact and their
chefs love to adhere to the traditional methods of cooking to bring
out the richness of the food.
They are open for lunch only for
parties over 15 people but must be booked a week early with a deposit
of £5 each at time of booking and a fixed price of £20 a
head excluding drinks. Takeaway service offers a 20% discount off
menu prices.
Very popular locally with a level
of service and cuisine that has stood the test of time.
