Brilliant is an institution in the Indian restaurant scene and has stood for all that is best in authenticity since it was opened in 1975 by K.K. & D.K.Anand. The restaurant is very much a family affair and if you are expecting a regularly changing menu then forget it. The menu has remained much the same for many years but what they do they do really well - try the Butter Chicken. The food is Punjabi style with a touch of Kenyan and it was no surprise they gained a 'Red D' for distinctive cuisine. 250 diners can enjoy the food and happy atmosphere. Shankar Anand is now the General Manager and the driving force is sister Dipna. 'Best in Britain Award 1994-2001 & 2005 - 2007' - Voted BIBA Best in London & the South 2007. British Curry Awards 'Best Restaurant in Suburbs 2007'.

Brilliant no longer looks as as many people may remember it but has a brand new external image with a smart, orange and black, Kenyan Asian themed interior and the new healthy menu is fantastic.

Another Anand family top class restaurant, this time run by Sanjay and Sanjeev Anand. The 104 seater restaurant opened in 1980 and the decor and food then had a heavy Kenyan influance. The interior reminded one somewhat of an African Game Lodge and the Kenyan Punjabi food was very special and 'dinstinctive'. The decor was modernised in a recent refurbishment to make it the smartest in the area and the food is still wonderful. Sanjay also runs one of London's most successful outside catering businesses and often caters for groups of over 1000 for weddings or other functions. After a fire the restaurant was completely re-furbished and expanded to become one of Britain's top restaurants. Sanjay Anand was awarded an MBE in 2007 Birthday Honours for services to catering. 'Best in Britain Award 1998-99 and 2005 - 2007'

North London's best kept secret the Punjabi and north Indian-style restaurant Six years of quietly being a magnet for both far-flung curry aficionados and north London's Asian residents, Zan Zi Bar is a surefire stamp of authentic cooking.
Owned by husband and wife Sameer and Sheetal Malik, Zan Zi Bar's head chef JP Bhatt has a pedigree which hails from some of India's finest restaurants and hotels, including the country's renowned Taj group of hotels. Bhatt and his talented team have devised menus which compliment the restaurant's Punjabi and north Indian-style a la carte menu. Each month clientele will be able to savour an array of items that characterise bold spicing, expert char-grilling, succulent on-the-bone meat items such as the Chicken Tikka, and flavours which are at once robust without being overwhelming.
Dishes may include Salmon Zanzibari (subtly flavoured chunks of tender spiced salmon); Kalmi Kebab (melt-in-the-mouth chicken legs marinated in yoghurt, cream & light spices); or Kathi Kebab (delicious diced chicken enveloped in a soft egg roll).
Vegetarian items are exemplified by the Dhaiwala Kebab (tantalising & mildly spiced yoghurt fritters coated in gram flour); or the Stuffed Battered Mushrooms (aromatic whole mushroom stuffed with potato & mint).
Newcomers and loyal followers to Zan Zi Bar's a la carte selection will enjoy a range of memorable dishes, starting with such finger-licking snacks as Spicy Peanuts or Masala Mogo Chips. The tandoori items are unbeatable, with the wonderfully smoky lamb Boti Kebab or the equally arresting Tilapia Fish, served whole and barbecued to perfection.
Main dishes are unmissable: the home-style Asli Chicken Curry comes on the bone, the Masala Lamb, a house speciality, is made of tender lamb in a richly textured north Indian masala sauce, while fans of true Punjabi cooking won't want to go without trying the Sarson da Saag (mustard leaves) and its classic accompaniment Makki di Roti (corn flour bread).
The breads, including the aromatic Methi (fenugreek) Roti and rice dishes are also notable, while Zan Zi Bar prides itself in serving a range of well-chosen wines and cocktails.

A sister restaurant to award-winning Manoj Vasaikar's Indian Zing in Hammersmith. Indian Zest is owned in partnership with Bhanu Pratap who runs the charming restaurant alongside the River Thames.
It is a delightful building of wood panelling and tables in varying locations making up 120 covers. Opened in 2008 it has already drawn critical acclaim and is one of the top restaurants in the area. Try the Lobster Balcho (Lobster tails seared with full flavoured hot sauce and balanced with jaggery and Goan spices, served with a timbale of spicy semolina) or Duck Chettinad (Breast of barbary duck in a blend of Chettinad community spices, roasted coconut and tempered with mustard seeds and curry leaves) two of the exciting dishes on the menu.
Indian Zest’s Director Cuisine - Manoj Vasaikar combines a thorough understanding of traditional values and contemporary style. His impressive CV includes time spent in some of the best kitchens in both Mumbai and London including Deputy Head Chef at Chutney Mary and Head Chef at Veeraswamy. In India he worked for Taj Hotels, Oberoi hotels, & ITC Sheraton.
Another great advantage is the very convenient car park alongside the restaurant.
