Owned by Executive Chef Cyrus Todiwala OBE MBE (seen
in the background on the left) and wife Pervin (and originally
restaurant entrepreneur Michael Gottlieb), Cafe Spice grew from
exciting humble beginnings when Cyrus and Pervin ran the nearby small
but widely praised Namaste. Opened in 1995 with 110 covers Cafe Spice
is a destination restaurant for many and members of the City in particular.
Cyrus is ranked by most as one of the top Indian chefs
in Britain and is known for his Goan and Parsi dishes from his days
with Taj International Hotels in Goa. The menu is always exciting and
varied including exotic meats and regional dishes. The decor is
bright yet simple and the service friendly and experience. Cyrus can
often be seen advising on Indian cooking on television and is also
involved in furthering culinary education in the industry resulting
in an MBE and a 'professorship'. Recently awarded Champion Investor
in People.

Mehek offers a more sophisticated dining experience

The Menu takes you on a journey across the different
regions of Indian Subcontinent to present a superb combination of
vibrant dishes. And from the many regional variations of Indian
cooking that provide a wide choice of cooking styles, the head chef
has matched each dish with a style to bring out the distinct flavours
and fragrances of the dish to tantalise the senses. Mehek features a
luxurious restaurant with a warm ambience. It boasts a large bar with
a friendly atmosphere and an excellent selection of wines and

The restaurant is owned by Mr B. Rashid (Salim) and
has won critical acclaim from numerous magazines and guides including
British Curry Awards.
