CHAMPAGNE SUMMER AT PESCATORI
Sip
your way to summer at Pescatori, the Italian fish and seafood
restaurant in Mayfairs Dover Street, W1.
From mid July to end of August 2010, Pescatori is
offering a glass of Laurent Perrier Champagne when pre-booking a
special two or three course menu, lunch and dinner. Two courses with
a glass of champagne are offered at £21.50 and three at £25.
The Champagne Menu, which includes classic dishes and seasonal
favourites, has been created in collaboration with Laurent Perrier to
offer the perfect food and drink pairing for the summer months.
The delightful citrus notes of the bouquet in
Laurent Perrier, followed by a slight yeastiness and biscuity flavour
perfectly complement Freschino di piselli con salmone a
chilled pea soup, smoked salmon and crème fraiche and Sgombro
Affumicato - hot-smoked mackerel with celeriac remoulade, beetroot
& horseradish coulis. The champagne also makes an excellent
pairing with Trota di Mare seared wild sea-trout, with
asparagus and pea-shoot salad.
Other summer delicacies on the menu include Aletta
di Razza pan-fried skate, Calamari Grigliati grilled
chilli flavoured squid with mint & coriander salad, and there are
also several vegetarian choices. Coupled with a tempting selection of
fresh and light seasonal desserts, the menu is a perfect choice for
hot summer days.
Enjoy the Champagne menu in the elegant and cool
surroundings of Pescatori, 11 Dover Street, Mayfair W1, Tel: 020 7493
2652 or go for an outdoor table at the modern-rustic Pescatori 57

Celebrate St Georges Day In Splendid
Anglo-Indian Style At Babur
Babur in SE23 is enthusiastically celebrating an unaccountably
neglected holiday, St Georges Day. And such a wonderful
occasion deserves to be celebrated for more than just one day, so
well be featuring some Anglo-Indian specials from 23 30 April.
Weve got a mix of treats for the occasion. To start, smoked
haddock kedgeree, Indian-style fish and chips, English asparagus with
sesame and nigella seeds. Then Old Delhi steak and kidney pudding,
Railway lamb and a cheekily-reworked favourite chicken tikka
sausages with masala mash and gravy. To finish, Indian rum and mango trifle.
St George is claimed as patron saint by cities and countries across
the world, from Aragon to Zaragoza; as far afield as Moscow, Brazil
and Kerala in India by the Syrian Christian community; in Palestine,
where Christians, Muslims and Jews unite as pilgrims to his shrine.
And, of course, here in England.
So lets unite in celebrating St George, a patron saint for all
the people. Come celebrate with us on the day. Come early and come
often. For St George! |
