The success of the 2001 event enabled a full expansion for 2002. The event was run for a month and involved thirteen cities :-

London West/North/East/South - Birmingham - Leicester - Cardiff - Bradford - Manchester - Sheffield - Newcastle - Edinburgh - Glasgow

During the month of the actual event Chambers of Commerce and restaurants in each city were encouraged to promote special functions with the aim of raising much needed funds for the appointed charity 'Action Against Hunger' to feed the starving of the world.

During the same period the 2002 running of Curry Capital of the Year with four selected Indian restaurants representing each city, came to fruition.

The whole event came to a head on 17 June in London when those gathered saw Glasgow carry the trophy away as Curry Capital 2002.

"It is a very worthwhile project and has my full support"
