Mayor Livingstone and the team from London West receive their trophies at Romney House The event was first held in 2000/2001 with the final as part of the Ethnic Food & Drink Show at NEC Birmingham in June. On that day London West was chosen as The Curry Capital of Britain 2001 by a panel of expert judges and Veena Verma became the first Taj Spicemaster in an exciting cook-off.
