The Jaipur has had full marks for style since opening in 1988 but the owner Mr Ahad moved on to exciting things at a new site in 2001. The new Jaipur built on the reputation of the old site near the railway station and is one of the biggest purpose-built Indian restaurants in Europe including a fantastic Royal Thai restaurant on the upper floor. Mysore

Mysore opened in June 1990 run by Abdul Odud with 97 covers in a delightful cottage-style building and has built up a considerable reputation both locally and nationally. The decor is smart and relaxing in pink pastel shades and the background music classical Indian. Designed by same architect as Jaipur. The food is what makes Mysore that little bit different as the chef definitely has his own style. There are some excellent specialities and the tandoor dishes are very popular. Winner of Patak regional award in 1993 and 'Best in Britain Award 1994/5'. 'Best in Britain Nomination 1999' Britsh Curry Awards Top 100 2005 & 2006.

This is a fascinating restaurant in that it is in a 130 year old building that has gone from being a public school to a cigar factory to an orphanage. Opened as Moghul Palace in 1993 with 100 covers in wood-panelled comfort overlooked by unique gargoyles beneath high-vaulted ceilings.
It re-opened under new ownership in September 2008. The menu has been created by Subhojit Chakravarty, chef proprietor from Calcutta, together with his team of chefs from different regions of India.

Owned by Abdul Hai, Jalori opened in 1994 with 70 covers. Its smart frontage advertises Classical Indian Cuisine and the menu certanly lives up to it if the opinions of local customers are anything to go by. The tables are comfortably spaced so that you can enjoy your meal without crowding and the atmosphere is very relaxing and pleasant. The menu includes most of the recognised dishes and the pricing represents good value for money. Les Routiers recommended. 'Best in Britain 1999 Nomination'
